HI,

I connecting to a Google Apps account using IMAP.
I used to get this error quite often in 2.0 and have now had it again
in 3.0 rc1.
The mail that has not been displayed is a very simple text reply in an
on going conversation.

I am sure there is a bug raised about this somewhere since googling
for the message shows it has been an ongoing problem since 2003 at
least.

Was this supposed to be fixed in 3.0?

Thanks

BTW, I am willing to help debug this.

Indeed a very annoying problem. Something even more annoying is when TB
only downloads half of an attachment - so the file is effectively
unusable. I haven't seen this in beta4 or RC1, yet though.

The problem is probably that it is not easily reproducible...

It is very annoying!

In fact it is a big FAIL against the Thunderbird client which I love
and have used for 2 years despite this problem - most people wouldn't
put up with it.
It means that I cannot recommend TB to my colleagues (I am the IT
Manager)

What do you do when your email client won't show you your email
messages??!!!
Log on to google mail and check it there. Slow, clunky, embarrassing.

Personally I would consider this a blocker.

I would very much appreciate an authoritative response from the
developers.

Thanks

i started having the same problems lately on Debian/unstable running
TB 2.0.0.22. (shipped with Debian as Icedove for copyright reasons).
Sometimes message body will not display, and sometimes only a part of
attachment will download, making files unusable. Sometimes, the same
files will download fine on a different occasion. very, very
annoying.

This suggests that we're dealing with old bugs.
