The current Flash is not installing on my ffox, on which I have many
bookmarks. The problem is that it wants the Mozilla files to be
closed. I have two sets of files, Moz... and Fire.... Can I
uninstall or delete the Moz... files without fouling my machine?

Flash should just install fine.
Afaik, you should only close the browser, during the Flash install, so
the installer can update the plugin.

Ok, I'm glad you got it working.
The mozilla.exe process getting stuck as a process seems to me like
that was from the old Mozilla Suite (1.7), btw.
You don't have to be that afraid of deleting processes in the task manager.
The alert seems scary, but if you see things like "mozilla.exe",
"firefox.exe" or any other program you know you have installed, you
shouldn't be too scared that something terrible happens with your
system.
