I'm using Thunderbird "daily" on Windows 7 and cannot find any current
Lightning builds[1][2][3] (latest is from 7.1.2013) that work.

Could someone please tell me what the status is?

BTW: I've added a comment to the Calendar Versions page[3] to reflect this.

The 2.3a1 builds on [1] works fine for me. I did manually update to it,
I'm unsure if auto-update is not working or if I'm just impatient and it
hadn't hit the server yet. :)

Could you be more specific on what is "not working" for you? Please
describe the error in detail and don't forget to check Error Console for
error messages.

I tested todays Lightning 2.3a1 with Thunderbird 21.0a1 (Daily) (BuildID
for both is 20130113030515) on Windows 7 and I see my existing events
and I can create new ones.

The link at [2] has *two* versions of calendar nightly builds: 2.2a1 and
2.3.a1. That's strange.

I assumed there is only one nightly (as we are not living on multiple
parallel timelines with multiple "latest"-comm-central builds, and as I
thought there is only one "trunk"), and so I stopped looking when I came
across the first nightly windows file (2.2a1), which is the one that
doesn't work with current Thunderbird daily builds.

I just downloaded the second occurrence of the latest nightly build for
windows, and Calendar is working again.

Thanks for telling me it works, thus causing me to look again.

Last week was branch and release day, i.e. Thunderbird 19 was uplifted
to comm-beta branch, Thunderbird 20 was uplifted to comm-aurora, and
Thunderbird 21 was introduced in comm-central. In the same step the
Lightning version was increased as usual.

You can find the correct combination of Lightning version + Thunderbird
version on
https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Calendar/Calendar_Versions#Development_Snapshots
It seems to me although you added an incorrect comment on that page you
did not read it because it lists 2.3a1 for Thunderbird 21.0a1 not 2.2a1.
Could you remove the incorrect comment?

I did read "2.3", but when I went to the FTP directory, I used my usual
method of looking for "win" and "xpi". I have never had to look at the
version before (because in the past it was always only the current
version, not current+previous). OK, I modified the comment to now
reflect there being two versions in the FTP directory.

I was trying to find 18.0+2.0 (which is no longer listed) and 19.0+2.1 matching versions and could not do so from the Calendar Versions page (the TB 19 link gets me to TB 19, but Lightning 2.1b1 link leads to page that only has 2.0b1). There is no way to get from the Calendar Versions page to 18.0b1 TB or 2.1b1 Lightning - so it is currently "cross-wired". I added a row to the table for 18.0b1+2.0b1 - but I don't know where to accurately find the relevant downloads. I was new to Developer Network - I expected the page edits to be submitted to someone for approval (who could also get all the right links), but I simply accepted my half-baked edits! Soory, I did not expect that.
Anyway, now there will be lots of betas piling up, as they are not being officially released. So something will need to happen so that people can be pointed to the downloads for a (getting longer every 6 weeks) list of TB+Lightning beta combinations.
So, could someone who knows more than me make the page complete and correct?

Old Beta builds can be found on
https://addons.mozilla.org/thunderbird/addon/lightning/versions/

I don't think there is any use to list old builds on the page for
current test builds.

OK, then the Calendar Versions page could be updated just to point to the Lightning Version History so people can find the data easily.
This page still points to 2.0b1 as if it is the current beta:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/lightning/#beta-channel
How does that get updated?
