Hi all,

Firefox in Vietnamese has recently become very popular in Vietnam. We
have seen a large increase in the number of downloads and usage for
Firefox in the country.

Because it has been a long time since the Vietnamese localization has
been completely translated, these new users are installing a partially
localized version of Firefox. In order to encourage these users to
remain with Firefox in Vietnamese, we need to give them a complete
Firefox localization.

Please take time to contribute to Firefox localization so that the open
web can grow in Vietnamese. The need is urgent; please help.

Thanks,
Jeff

I'm asking the Pootle admins about this now. Will have an answer
shortly. You're welcome to jump into #l10n on IRC so that we avoid
adding noise to the mailing lists. I'm gueroJeff there.

Sorry, I'm not familiar with IRC. I'm just a part-time translator, that can
join to help in short time.

I will come back later. Thank you for your fast response and support.

IRC is easy. It's a chat protocol.

Here's what I recommend (and these are instructions for all here):

1) Visit www.irccloud.com and create an account.
2) IRCCloud will ask for some configuration info. In Network, select
Mozilla. In channels (or rooms), type in #l10n. Create your own unique
username for your Nick (or Nickname).
3) Once you've completed this, each time you log in to IRC, it will
automatically place you into the #l10n chat room for Mozilla.

Even if you're a part-time translator (most of us are, any way :-) ),
it's important to have a presence on IRC to connect with the larger
Mozilla localization community when you encounter these types of errors.
The errors can then be resolved much more quickly than via email.

If you have any other questions about IRC, please feel free to ask. See
you there.

Jeff

I've been contributing suggestions to the Firefox 42 (Aurora) project on
Locamotion for the past couple weeks, but it looks like this team may
need additional help sorting through suggestions and approving them. In
particular, most of the critical errors have unapproved fixes. (Most of
these critical errors are due to bug 1024363.)

Additionally, I used to be the Thunderbird localizer, but I had to go
inactive in 2010 due to a work conflict of interest, and the
localization has been slowly falling apart. Now that I'm free to work on
Mozilla localization again, I'd like to pick up where I left off.

If the community here is alright with this, I'll file a bug requesting
access, similar to bug 1199900, as well as a bug to restart the
Thunderbird localization. Thanks.

Hey Minh, that's awesome to know. I'm trying to gather back the community. Why don't you hop over our new channel [1] and have some informal chat? It's better to work together!
