Hi,

This is Brian Birtles from Mozilla Japan. How are you?

I wanted to say hello because some of us from Tokyo (Daisuke Akatsuka,
chibi, and I) are hoping to visit Hanoi in June.

We are thinking of running a Mozilla Hackathon at Hanoi University of
Science and Technology for students of HUST (years 3~5).

It will probably be 4 days on either of the following dates:

(a) June 10-13, or
(b) June 23-26

The focus will be on building apps for Firefox OS. We might also focus
on a specific area like "WebRTC apps" or "Offline apps".

I wanted to let you know in case any of you are interested in helping?

We would like to have some talk sessions at the start of the week
introducing technical topics around Firefox OS and the Web. Please let
me know if you can help university students to make Web apps or give a talk.

Thank you and I hope to meet you in June!

Best regards,

Brian

Hello Brian,

Thank you for coming and helping us setup this initiative.

We will certainly join. Please let us know if you need any helps (from now
on and during the Hackathon)

Btw, have you got any other interesting plan in Vietnam at that time?

Kind regards,
Tuan

That'd be awesome! Welcome you all to Vietnam! Thank you for coming
and helping us.

Absolutely. I know some students from HUST who might be interested in
joining us organize the event. I've got some ideas about a Mozilla
Hackathon for some time but I have not actually get started. We have
one month to prepare and I think we could hold some pre-Hackathon
events to talk and do some workshops about Firefox OS (since it's
currently not that popular Vietnam) and incoming Web technologies, and
also to find the best theme for the Hackathon.

Please let us know if you need anything.

Hope to see you all in June too!

Best regards,

Sure.

What is the (planning) status of the event?

I can help on:
- Promoting the event. I/we think we can help connecting you more
effectively with the local universities
- Translation: English - Vietnamese - Japanese
(other can help you translating English - Vietnamese)
- Show-around Hanoi and the vicinities
- Other on-site help.
