Hi everyone

Back in November we had a Community Meetup. The goal was to get a
current status on the Community and define plans and goals for 2016. To
do that, we started with a SWOT-Analysis
(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SWOT_analysis). You can find it here:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1CtC9L1VR3uE3wcO90sIXgdRnqKyQGHPsBbIJQn-3qVY/edit#gid=0

With these remarks in mind, we started to define goals for 2016.

Some remarks from my side: I thought that a whole year is too much and
we need to be able to be flexible, so I shortened the duration of those
goals to the first half of 2016. Of course I changed the numbers
accordingly! Please feel free to voice your concerns if applicable.
Further I came up with a few more goals, we need to vet those, I don’t
want to decide for the whole community.

Here is what we have now:

Community Development:
* Define existing contribution areas and define contact persons for them
* Have onboarded at least 3 new contributors who are committed to drive
MozillaCH further
* Create a T-Shirt Design and print them
* Organize a Community Meetup to discuss the H1 success and plan for H2
in May/June

Privacy:
* Be a fundamental force in the NDG vote and educate at least 100
persons about privacy (to be further defined by actions from the Campus
Campaign)
* Have at least 3 privacy-focused meetups with different audiences
* Join a Crypto-party as a fire-starter

Romandie:
* Start regular talks and hackathons with at least 5 people per meetup
* Have at least 3 Mozillians helping out at the beginining to kick-start it
* Romandie Meetup is set up to run autonomously after June

Website:
* Move Website to Community IT infrastructure
* Cleanup outstanding issues on GitHub as needed
* A maximum of 2 long-term issues are in the Repository
* Organize Website Hackathon to include new goals and direction of MozillaCH

Events / Outreach:
* Have at least 5 physical meetups in the first half of the year in Zurich
* Organize a Hackathon in Lausanne (topic TBD) in the first quarter
* Organize at least 3 meetups In Lausanne apart from the Hackathon to
introduce the French-speaking part to Mozilla
* Have at least 3 informal meetups without talks (“get-togethers”) (Bern?)
* Have one meetup with CH OPEN and/or OpenData.ch to discuss synergie

Social Media:
* Tweet at least 10 tweets per month to keep our followers up-to-date
regarding all Mozilla and Community topics
* Have at least 2 persons helping out with the Twitter account
* Have at least 100 more followers by the end of the first half of 2016

Please voice your feedback within the next 2 weeks, and then I’ll
publish and communicate them. I think those are achievable and a very
good start into a successful year for MozillaCH. If we all can stand
behind those goals, we will have the opportunity to bring Mozilla
Switzerland further and become an important organisation in Switzerland
as well.

Feel free to disagree on any point, this thread is for discussions! And
please also write a short reply if you agree, so we don’t end up with an
empty thread :)

To a successful 2016,
Michael
