Call for comment - Discourse Forum instead of mailing list

Hi everyone

The Mozilla community has a Discourse instance for quite some time now, and
more and more mailinglists are moving there. While it IMHO has a better
interface, it is still possible to use mail-only and still post to the
thread or even create new ones.

Discourse is open to the public. You just need to have a Persona account to
post, not for just following along.

I think we're at the point where we should move this mailing list there as
well.

There is good documentation on the main site (
https://discourse.mozilla-community.org/t/navigating-the-main-page/3040)
and there is also an image explaining on how to subscribe (watch)
categories so you get an email and can use it like a mailing list (

Are there any objections? I'll leave this thread open for discussion until
May 10th, please voice your opinion :)

We will keep this mailing list running until the end of June, then we will solely use Discourse. With Discourse we have the advantage that everyone can read it without registering, therefore increasing our visibility. We can also get feedback from outside persons in the Mozilla community if needed.
