I am excited to see this new group be available for our use.

This group was created for a few purposes:
1) A place to post/discuss contribution opportunities within Mozilla's Platform Operations group. Ideally projects that have significant work with an active mentor (think of Google Summer of Code, Outreachy, or Quarter of Contribution).

2) announce upcoming meetings and post meeting notes.

3) discuss procedures for mentoring/contributing. For example, how best to mentor in different timezones. How to get started contributing to a project.

4) introducing contributors and mentors who have availability and certain interests.

While we have predefined intentions for this group, it doesn't mean we are restricted to what is above. Different people have different needs regarding community, please consider this a new tool for communicating for all things community and contribution related.
