The fact is, there's another potential threat looming pretty close on the
horizon.

In just 5 days, policymakers from around the world will come together
behind closed doors at the meeting of the International Telecommunications
Union (ITU) to discuss proposals that could harm the future of the Web.

This top-down and opaque approach could very well give governments even
more power to monitor Internet traffic and censor content.

We're working to push back, both in the immediate term by helping some
campaigns get off the ground around the world, and in the long term, by
helping to create a world where no one would think regulating the Internet
behind closed doors is a good idea.

When people understand how the Web works and are empowered to protect it,
I'd like to think that we'd no longer have to worry that governments will
pass misguided Internet policies.

Building a better world means building a better Web. And building a better
Web starts with you.
