Mozilla Discourse instance

Hi,

I know that there were some tests going on with
Discourse<http://discourse.org/>to see if it can fix the communication
gap we have at Mozilla between
forums, mailing lists...

What's the status? What's needed to move it forwards?

I've found that discourse also supports now reply by email, so this could
be awesome for people that prefer to use just email for communications
(just like mailing lists) and great for people that prefer using a web tool
(forums).

And the only thing we need to get it deployed is someone with good
knowledge of PostgreSQL. Can we find someone from the community?

Is the installation that problematic? Do we need than kind of HA right now?

I've never played with pgpool-II, but I've found out these:

Postgres is a bit complicated.

Currently aborted and am using EnterpriseDB's cloud offering. So just need to setup the web server now.

I do think it has to have sufficient resiliency and ability to scale. If it can't grow or breaks adoption will fail.

Unfortunately that never happened.

There are a handful of folks working on a Dockerized instance of Discourse. We were planning on using EnterpriseDB's cloud DB on hpcloud but unfortunately EnterpriseDB has opted to decommission that offering due to some incompatibilities with hpcloud's new version.

I don't have a good story here.

role at the CBT - System and Data :P

As far as I know we are stuck on a postgres resource.
We've reached out to the community and beyond, but not because we haven't
tried, and tried - and tried...and tried to find one :)

who have Postgres experience, I'm pretty sure.

Someone who can configure Postgres & pgpool in a fault tolerant setup and someone who can help maintain it should there be issues.
