Hi,

I was wondering if it's viable to have community servers monitored by IT
tools (I guess nagios) so we don't have to deploy a new infrastructure
for each local site on our own.

Notifications to local tech contact should be enough, so IT work should
be only needed for the initial set up.

Regards.

I can bring this up tomorrow at one of IT's meetings. I like this. Here we also have a dedicated IRC channel where the alerts go. We can setup something similar for communities for transparency and knowledge sharing and collaboration.

Hi Dumitru,

Do we have news about this?

It's very interesting since we can explore other community
servers/initiatives to be monitored.

The discussion was positive, and I'll file an internal bug for tracking
progress now. If there will be questions, I'll let you know.
Stay tuned :)

Hi,

I would like to re-bump this.

What's the status? Is it possible to use this service?

Thanks.

I forget what the ask was.

Ruben, what do you need? How can we help?

Yes, this makes sense.

I added a section to https://communityit.etherpad.mozilla.org/icinga . We're still in the planning and implementation phase.

Before leaving Mozilla Corporation, I filed a bug for this. But considering
how busy currently IT is there, I doubt someone will have time to address
it in the near future.
