Kitchen Table

Hi all,

I want to plan a Kitchen table [1] but before setting up an events page, I
wanted to see if there'll be enough participants for it. For those of you
unfamiliar with it. Kitchen table is all about *making on the Web*. It
comprises of short meetups (around 1 hour) with friends (2 -10) at home,
school etc to make/learn something online.

So by the end of it all, you'll have to have made something. I know Vicky
is doing some stuff on HTML5 (mobile dev) so that can be a start. The
reason that I'm asking for participation is that organization is quite
decentralized and it's success is mostly dependant on the participants. So
let me know if you have cool Web related projects that you'll be willing to
work with on some guys and I'll start something up. By the end of it all,
we can showcase and share what we've made and learnt.

Looking forward to some feedback.

which I should be able to share once we are sure of the date for this.

Count me in I would be glad to learn new stuff from you guys and also
share some of HTML5 amazing features that I have learned with other
guys. This will be a nice experience for all who are going to attend.

Great, I'll have a page up by tomorrow to coordinate reports on all Kitchen
tables we'll have plus beta testers are needed for this so I'll have a link
up for that with the page.

Thanks for the feedback looking forward to cook up some great dishes :) and
if they are awesome, we can get some guys to taste/test them

Hey all,

I've started a page for Kitchen Table meetups that will happen in Kenya
here: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Kitchen_Table_Kenya

So here's the drift:

- Come up with a name for your Kitchen table (optional - you can put up
your name though) and a codename (preferably food)
- A description of what you'll be making, location and date of meetup(s)
- Ingredients (tech) you'll be using
- Chef(s) this is you and/or participants (optional for participants who
wish to remain anonymous) in your group
- And when you are through with making, provide a link of what you built
for people to see


So if you are upto organizing one, do fill your details on the link I've
shared. For anyone unfamiliar with wiki syntax, you can email me the
details and I'll fill them for you.

Hi Alex, All,

I'd suggest that even after filling in the page you started, I'd prefer
everyone
having their own pages for their Kitchen Table seeing that It won't be one
event ideally.

Everyone who is interested in holding a Kitchen table event
is tasked with planning for it fully and making sure everything
is in order hence the event is his and not a communal thing.

Anyway, those are my thoughts.

@Cliff, yah, as I stated before starting this. Kitchen tables success are
mostly dependent on participants, I only setup the page to collect info on
what guys are doing. so with that said, I won't be followingup/instructing
groups participating on this, needless to say, if you have any questions
though, I'd be happy to answer them. Looking forward to hear from guys who
said they'd participate.
