Hi all,

We have a new request from the advocacy team to build a tool that can track
offline activities during a major campaign.
For example, we recently had the privacy month campaign and there was no
tool to measure the number/quality of offline activities that were
conducted.

I've added an issue here with a set of initial requirements
<https://github.com/MozINadvocacy/plan/issues/8>. Is this something we can
take up as the TTF?

Keep me posted!

First question here would be are the any existing tools out there that we
can leverage for this?

Hi Sayak,

The answer is yes and no. There are quite a few open source tools that help
online trend analysis, social media tracker, etc for example CampaignChain
<http://www.campaignchain.com/>. However, the advocacy task forces needs a
dashboard/portal kind of interface to track offline on the ground events
that take place during the event.

Also as Jafar mentioned on the issue
<https://github.com/MozINadvocacy/plan/issues/8> - social media team
already has a tool to track impressions. We don't have to work on that!

Gentle reminder, can we do something about it?

How do you propose the "offline" event gets translated to an "online" entry
on a dashboard? Automatically? By a manual action from the organizer?

Yes, added now.

How do you suggest we take the brainstorming further, Jafar? I'm ready to
start an etherpad so that all of us can dump our ideas there, or do we host
a hangout?

Apparently Jafar realized that we missed the mailing list during the
conversation.
