Dear BugMasters and Mozillians

I’m a researcher from Peking University working on Mining Software Repository (MSR). We recently built a tool Issue Workflow Explorer (IWE) to help understand issue policies and practices in history. We hope the tool could help us observe and learn from both successful and inefficient practices in the past when we are planning new actions on issues. The tool is available online at http://yuekeplus.cn/iwe/demo/mozilla. Its document is at http://yuekeplus.cn/iwe/tutorial.

We really wish our work could contribute to the community, so it’s now beseeching feedback from Mozillians. I would be terribly grateful if you could provide any comment or advice.

Sorry the data is now only available till 2012, and the app needs some time loading.

Best,
John

Thanks for sharing this!

Where can I find the source code of this tool, and which kind of
feedback are you looking for?

Thank you so much for your interest and response!

The code is at https://github.com/johnarseal/iwe. The data schema is at its wiki.

This tool aims to help people better understand their practice on resolving issues (triage, prioritization, verification), as well as see the impact of their practice (efficiency, issue quality).
The feedback we want is quite simple.

1.How useful do you think the tool is? (Or does it achieve its goal?) Usage examples can be found at http://yuekeplus.cn/iwe/tutorial#usage-example.
2.What specific aspects of issue workflow would you use it to inspect? Or how would you use the tool?
3.What advice do you have on this tool for improvement?

I’m also expecting feedback from anyone else who is interested!

Best,
Zhen
