Hi all,

Summary of the Form Autofill TPE workweek :

UX:

Locked down the UX spec v1.0 . Will keep working on the design for the following edge cases:

  • Edge case A: If the website has its own @list/datalist form field, i.e., province or region, should the autofill profile data replace the current form data?
  • Edge case B: When and how to detect duplicated profiles? should we inform users when merging the profiles?
  • Edge case C: when the form is populated by one autofill profile, should we allow users to clear the form data at once

PM:

Discussed the Form Autofill Metric/Success Measurement. Will submit sub bugs to the current metric bugs for further clarification.

Engineering:

Reviewed the scope and brokedown tasks for milestone 1. The current task assignments are:

Matthew : Matthew will help to tackle the hard parts first and gradually transfer his form autofill tasks to Taipei team:

  • Study how to fill other form fields when a profile is selected - Bug 1300989
  • Study how to add the "Enable Profile Autofill" checkbox in "Preference -> Privacy" to avoid possible issues(e.g. sync between tabs, not to insert redundant checkbox, etc)

Luke: Autofill profile storage backend - Bug 1016733

Steve: Implement an API in the content process to fill a form with a specific form autofill profile using @autocomplete - Bug 1300988

What's Next:

Will have weekly meeting and send out regular program status report to all stakeholders.
