There's always that chance, but IMO if part of our goal is to make
Affiliates useful enough to make people come back semi-regularly, going
shorter helps us get closer to that goal. That way we try to optimize
for 3-month or shorter return rates.

This bit is more flexible, methinks, so 15 in 2 months is fine as well.
Maybe we remove clicks as a requirement and see what the average is to
get an idea?

Agreed on both statements. Let's finalize this at the next weekly meeting!

Hey Mike and Eli!

I agree overall with the need to define these active affiliates so that we can revise our goal to one that is more attainable and meaningful.

Mike, I also agree with your aggressive criteria that can push us to optimize but I think we need to discuss how aggressive we should be because we need to consider that we're going from counting completely inactive users to now those who are very active.

I recommend that we set 2 levels of this goal (baseline and aggressive).

Let's please chat about this in our meeting later this week!

Thanks, Mike for surfacing these topics!

That's a good idea! Using my original criteria for aggressive and Eli's
for baseline, we get:

Active Affiliate:
- Has created at least one banner.
- Has logged into the site within the past 6 months
- Has had at least 15 clicks across all of their banners in the past 2
months.

Engaged Affiliate:
- Has created at least one banner.
- Has logged into the site within the past 3 months
- Has had at least 10 clicks across all of their banners in the past month.

(Engaged vs Active is just a random term I came up with, feel free to
suggest an alternative.)

Does that sound like criteria we can move forward with?

Thanks!

I've filed a bug for adding the ability to count and detect
active/engaged Affiliates:
