Hi,

I'm participating in the Week of Browser's life test and i just
wanted to share my thoughts. I see that this test is counting
bookmarks and then compares how they have changed, but it also counts
my rss feeds (i'm storing them in bookmarks > rss feeds folder). So i
think in some way it is affecting results. These are not normal
bookmarks and may change automatically, though it still shows the same
number of bookmarks after a week.

I have to confirm, that my test "A Week in the Life of a Browser"
number of bookmarks is corrupted by rss bookmarks too. (~300 new
bookmarks per week?)

Hi Slawek and Wroot,

Thank you for the email. As for the RSS feeds in bookmarks, we have particularly considered to filter this information when we design the study. I am not sure if the "big number" is caused by the rss feed, or something else. If you are interested, you can help us take a fresh look at our code to see if there is anything may cause this.

Thanks,
Jinghua

hi Slawek and wroot,

Could you describe a bit more about your settings? Fx version, installed add-ons? Also, could you save and send us an screenshot on how bookmark number changed over the week?

The case you described (~300 NEW bookmarks per week) is interesting for us to dig into. We are working on that now.

Thanks,
Jinghua

Sorry for not answering for a long (i wish this place could do email
notifications..)

My Firefox was the latest at that point, maybe it was 3.5.5, now it is
3.5.6. In my case the number of bookmarks was constant, though i get a
lot of new feeds per day. As i said my feeds are stored in Bookmarks >
RSS Feeds folder as live bookmarks. I use Feed Sidebar add-on to
manage them. Also these add-ons installed:

Adblock Plus
Auto Copy
Clippings
Combine Stop-Reload Buttons
Find In Numbers
FireFTP
FireGestures
FlashGot
ForecastFox
FoxClocks
History Submenus
IE Tab
Java Quick Starter (disabled)

Nuke Anything Enhanced
Paste and Go 3
