I currently have a Google Chrome plugin that I'd like to get running
on Firefox. I was originally planning on doing the conversion using
the old method of FF development, but after seeing JetPack I'm
wondering if it's the correct route. Does anyone have experience doing
this? JetPack seems to have a lot of the same functionality that
Chrome offers. By some miracle is it possible to use the same code
base for for both browsers?

Thanks,
Justin

There have on a few occasions been talk about writing a jetpack that would make it possible to install chrome and safari extensions directly, but no substantial work has been put into it as of yet (at lest to my knowledge)

In the mean time, you're right that a simple extension should be relatively easy to port to jetpack by hand...

If you have any specific problems or questions, this is a good place to ask :-)

Best regards

Hi Christian,

Thanks for the feedback. I'm sure I'll have more questions as time
goes on.

Thanks,
Justin

I've written an extension for both Chrome and jetpack that use the
same base:
http://code.google.com/p/scry/

The source is available if you'd like to take a look and see how I
handle each backend.
