Hi Michael,

The curriculum looks very good. It reminds me a bit of
http://zenit.senecac.on.ca/wiki/index.php/Real_World_Mozilla which is
something we did back at the school I went to and was a great 'crash
course' on becoming a Mozilla contributor. Perhaps you will find
something you like there to work into yours.

Cheers,
Lukas

Hi All,
In my last chat with Alex, I discussed the idea of tagging the event "POSSE NG." Given that Mozilla is sponsoring it, could we call it POSSE NG while we run a  Mozilla curriculum? Let me put it this way: I am taking the funding to TOS (Teaching Open Source) with the hope of getting its support - additional instructor(s), online participation from its members, e.t.c. In addition, we will maintain the continuity of the event - POSSE.

Your thoughts are welcome.

Regards,
Michael.

Hi Everyone,
I was looking forward to some contributions to the below request. I feel ignored :) But thanks to Alex for his reply. However, we need to reach a consonance on the event name - "Mozilla Nigeria" or "POSSE NG."

I also don't want to start doubting the community interest in US; I have been through this before, though it was with another organization. But I would give it a shot one more time.

Regards,
Michael.

My two cents: any event that Mozilla sponsors or affiliates itself with
does not need to have 'Mozilla' in the name and you should feel free to
name as you like without needing to check in. Not hearing back might be
an indication that you are trusted to run your event in the correct
spirit and that naming an event is sometime a 'bikeshed' (ie: an easy
topic for lots of people to jump in on and offer opinions) when the hard
work is not the naming, it's pretty much all the other stuff involved in
making an event happen.

How is the planning going? Are you getting the people you need? Is it
all coming together well?

Wish I could help more, but currently can only comment from afar. If
there's anything that I can do to help (from my desk in the US) please
let me know.

Best,
Lukas

I should have updated this list, but I checked around with a few
friends and think I have found another person who is a strong open
source person and a contributor to Moz. I forwarded my friend's email
to Michael and hopefully it will work out!
