I did plug the devide in too early, before installing the sofware from CD. Cancelled the autoplay install, installed the Win 7 driver but no connection. In Device Manager, delete the driver for the old adapter and choose the option to also delete the driver files. Do the same for this new adapter. Make sure the old adapter is NOT plugged into your PC. Reboot.
Install the new adapter according to the instructions. The new adapter may have to be plugged into your PC when you install the driver. OR NOT ! Read and follow the installation directions to know whether or not to have the adapter plugged in while installing its driver.
I have same / similar problem with QGeeM's HC 1202 USB port. Worked reliably under Windows 10 for 2+ years; problem appeared on first restart after installing upgrade to Windows 11. Tried suggestions found online, include one with this issue. The hub's Ethernet port shows no LED activity. No driver updates found by Windows Updates.
i think the adapter is broken. I have 2 UGREEN USB C to Ethernet Adapter Thunderbolt 3 to RJ45. And one of the Ethernet adapter suddenly can't receive wifi even the lights on and computer knows how many Mbps it have. / or does anyone know whats the solution pls? i really need the solution.
i just had similar problem few days ago.
in my case, the USB 3.0 TP-Link gigabit network adapter detected as an cd/dvd drive chen plugged in, and the device is dissapearing from the device manager.
the USB to ethernet device is working fine before with windows 7 and 10.
i had found the problem was the wireguard vpn drivers crashed into the system networking drivers & registry. fresh re-install the OS and make sure the USB ethernet adapter work first, then installing the wireguard vpn drivers later. it works normally now.
The adapter works in another Mac Laptop: SO the adapter is fine.
The jack works with another USB-only adapter: So the jack is also fine.
But the LAN-USB combo adapter is not detecting in Inspiron 15- 5620 Dell laptop.
After trying several things such as installing the latest drivers , disableing the hub , removing and re-stating the PC etc , etc. I finally restored all network adapter to factory settings, using the option in the ethernet connections settings page.
Had a similar experience with this BaseUS 16 in 1 device, after upgrade to Windows 11 it worked fine except the network card was not there. Unplug USB-C and plug it back in, no change. Until I also unplugged the power cable in the back alongside unplugging the USB-C cable. After that the network card came back.
Whoa, thanks @LHarr499 - this worked for me today - Windows 11 and a Baseus StarJoy 9-Port Type-C Hub. I recently updated the drivers for the integrated Killer Networks LAN connection on my laptop and after a reboot the RJ-45 port on the USB-C hub stopped working while all other ports worked fine. Multiple reboots and unplugging and replugging didn't resolve the issue until I did this and now the connection is working again. Thanks!
For my part: if I boot the computer with the USB-C Ethernet adaptor plugged in, the device is detected in Device Manager and it works. But if I unplug/replug, the device disappears and never reappears. Have to restart (with the adaptor plugged in) to get it to work again. BOOOO Microsoft.
Same, the tip by @LHarr499 worked like a charm for me as well (and I have a completely different laptop and usb-c adapter). Incredible! On top of what he recommended, I tried unplugging everything else from the hub except for the network, by the way, and plugged everything else back one by one, in case that helps.
A similar issue in my case with LAN over USB. It was due to VPN virtual lan adapters enabled. The issue got resolved after disabling the VPN drivers which I usually don't use when connected to LAN. No re-installation of OS / drivers were needed. Thanks to "NIghtkNight" for the lead.
Crippling - and there seems to be no solution posted. My Lemorele dedicated USB-C to Ethernet adapter works fine on Win 10 and MacOS - suffers miserable drop outs for as long as 15 seconds on Windows 11. Very unstable.

I just upgraded my router to the A7. I followed the setup guide and got all my Wifi devices working as well as two other ethernet devices working (TV and PS4) - however my PC, which runs windows 10 and is connected directly by ethernet - does not work. I tried the following things:
check the front of the A7, does the indicator light for the ethernet port light up? If not try taking the ethernet cable and connecting it to two ports like port 1 and port 2 then check the lights if still off try moving your modem (known working cabled) and plug it into Port 1 or 2 and see if the lights come on. If the light does not come on you have bad LAN ports and an RMA is needed.
IF the light is lit, open a command prompt window and type ipconfig /all then hit enter. Scroll throught he results and look for Ethernet adapter and review the results. Is the IP address 169.254.x.x or is it 192.168.x.x? If 169.254.x.x you computer is not completing the handshake with the router. you will want to check the adapter settings and make sure its set to DHCP/auto-obtiain. Do this by opening Control Panel then going to Network and Sharing Center. Click on Change adapter settings on the left Find the ethernet adapter and right click on it. Select properities then select Internet Protocol version 4(TCP/IP) and click properties. make sure IP and DNS are both set to automatically obtian. Then retest
Long into the router. On Basic look at the network map and click on Wired under client devices. See if there are any listings. If not click on the Advanced tab then click on Secuirty then Access Control. Make sure Access Control is not enable, but if it is Disable it and see if that solve the issue
It sounds like the ethernet port on your computer has gone bad then. An easy fix would be a item like our UE300 this is a USB to gigabit ethernet adapter. its a very cheap way to add wired eithernet to your PC again wifh out having to remove a network card.
@JDowns I am having the same issue with the same route. I Have plugged the ethernet into a different router also from TP-Link and it works perfectly. But whenever I use this router it says no internet access. And this is only happening for my PC. I use other devices and the ethernet ports work fine. But for some reason my PC cant access internet on this router specifically through ethernet even though the cables and the ports and working properly.
@JDowns I have a similar issue. My ethernet cable is plugged in, I can connect to the router, but dont get any internet connection. My Smart TV is connecting fine, even when plugged into the same ethernet port than what is giving issues for my PC. Ethernet port on my PC working fine when plugged into other connections.
@JDowns I am having the same issue with 2 HP using the Realteck GBE ethernet cards that worked fine minutes before on my older cisco router. it is not my ethernet adapters, your router is not acknowledging the card. Packets are being sent to the router, nothing is being transmitted back. The router recognizes the physical link (pretty light is blinking on both) but no packets are being sent. So, I have two pcs w/ the same card and drivers, that worked minutes before, but according to this thread, there isn't a problem w/ the router? Don't think so...
Is your internet connection providing you with the best possible speed and stability? Modern laptops and tablets may include WiFi connection as a basic feature, but most wireless connections only provide restricted download speeds depending on your router.
When compared to WiFi, ethernet is faster. It doesn't go through the fight that WiFi does with all the concrete walls and competing for WiFi signals and so on. Ethernet is excellent and it's great if you have it.
But what to do if your device lacks an Ethernet port? The answer is to purchase a USB Ethernet adapter, which may not only boost your internet speed, but it may also improve the stability of your connection. Read this article to learn about ethernet and how to properly use a USB to ethernet adapter.
Ethernet is a type of communication protocol for connecting a wide variety of devices to a WAN (Wide Area Network) or LAN (Local Area Network). It enables devices such as computers, switches, and printers to communicate with one another without interruption and exchange data.
Ethernet is a wired connection that connects devices via ethernet switches and hubs. Compared to Wi-Fi, the ethernet protocol is more secure, faster, and more dependable. That is why modern companies use it to establish a better connection between external devices and departments.
Aside from constructing a network, an Ethernet connection allows you to provide internet connections within one corporation. It employs a hierarchies configuration that includes a router, switch, hub, ethernet port, gateway, and servers.
A USB to Ethernet adapter is a device that allows a USB port to be connected to an Ethernet wire if your laptop lacks an Ethernet port. USB to Ethernet adapters enable users to connect many devices using an Ethernet cable instead of a USB cable, which is typically less dependable and is also shorter in length.
