Global Human Rights Leadership Training Institute is currently accepting
applications for the following online distance learning courses:
1. Certificate Course on Gender-based Violence Training
[5th September – 11th October 2013]
Course description:
This course is aimed at building the capacity and commitment of
participants to undertake programs targeted at eradicating gender-based
violence and to develop a new movement for gender equality. The course also
features a number of exercises and reflective activities designed to examine
the concepts of gender, gender-based violence, sexuality, and rights. It will
further explore the impact of gender-based violence on education, health and

Course fee: US$300. There is limited number of partial scholarships
available for applicants from developing countries, based on financial need.
Application procedure:
The deadline for application is 30th August 2013. However,

Course description:
The course seeks to examine how gender identities are formed and re-shaped
as a result of the development process – and responsive approaches in a variety
of historical and cultural contexts. It will empower the participants with
tools and sector-specific guidelines for gender mainstreaming in their various
institutions and development planning. It will further improve the abilities of
participants to reduce gender inequalities in their various homes, organisation

This course is designed to provide participants with the rudimentary
knowledge and skills that will enable them to support the planning,
implementation, and monitoring requirements of their projects. It is intended
to give participants an appreciation of the types and quantity of data that
project managers require in order to keep a project within the confines of the

The “Human Rights Leadership Development Training” course aims to develop a comprehensive experience of human rights learning by equipping potential human rights educators, advocates, activists, students, volunteers, and law enforcement officers with knowledge and skills to integrate knowledge in the fields of politics, economics, cultural diversity, gender issues and socio-psychology in the context of human rights.
