Clarification: If a movie does not exist in a reference source eg IMDB, and
a
catalogue item in your library is scanned, then movie-browser will name it
according
to prevailing rules as "best match" but incorrectly. On manual or automatic
folder
scan, the user cannot over-ride the name (as on manual you are forced to
select from
a "rules" based movie list), neither can the rename function be used to
correct the
name after movie-browser processes the item per above notification.

New issue 96 by sigpark: Context menu - Rename function - the rename

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. See screenshot (used same screen shot for example as issue report 95, so
there is a shadow double up of the lsiting
2. The "before" and "after" movie name remains what WAS already in the
cache - it does not change. In this example there is no IMDB listing, the
movie is a future release http://videoeta.com/movie.html?id=112563&ad=615
for example only
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Please provide any additional information below.

Actually No. I am referring to the name that movie-browser has in the
catalogue. If a
movie cannot be found, the movie-browser gives nearest match - in this case
derived
from xnx - parsed from the file name (see screen shot of file name), but
you cannot
then go back and rename to the ACTUAL movie - which may never make the IMDB
if
fringe? So for example when you use the edit function - see screen shot -
and the the
movie is NOT listed on IMDB, then you are not able to override the
Movie-browser name
- in this case Die Another Day derived from the parsed avi file name by
movie-browser
(see right hand pane with file name - xnx-how.xvid.avi) Die Another Day is
NOT on my
file tree - it is the name assigned on the automatic folder import.

So when edit does not work as outlined above, I try to commit actual name,
using the
rename function, which does NOT rename the parent folder, actual file OR the
movie-browser catalogue entry (see original screen shot)
