How can we design interactions with physical activity data that account for the complex embodied experiences that data inherently simplifies? How can we appropriate our fitness trackers and wearable devices beyond pre-defined metrics and static data visualizations?

Join us for a one-day workshop at ACM DIS 2026 Conference as we unpack, explore, and critique the entanglements between our bodies, our data, and the digital technologies we use and appropriate when we move.

In the workshop, we will move, datafy our activity, and craft creative representations of our data as a starting point for reflection, critique, and discussion: How can we grasp, sense, control, and enjoy data, while staying true to critical feminist values?
