Massive amounts of explosive crude oil being shipped through Baltimore is a disaster waiting to happen.

Learn more about the proposed oil export terminal, and how we can stop it together.

Baltimore Oil Train Danger Map

The map above shows the evacuation and possible impact areas for an oil train disaster in Baltimore.

Dear ,

Did you know that oil companies want to start moving more than a million gallons of explosive crude oil by train through the center of Baltimore each day?

These trains would carry the same oil, in the same unsafe oil tankers, as those involved in the horrific derailment explosion that killed 47 people in Quebec last year.1 Since then, there have been a record number of oil train accidents across the United States.

If you've never heard about their plans to build the Targa oil export terminal in Baltimore, you aren't alone. That's why we're co-sponsoring a public information meeting tomorrow night with our friends at the Chesapeake Climate Action Network.

Join us tomorrow night to learn more about the risks these dangerous oil trains pose to Baltimore, and what you can do to help stop them. See the details below and RSVP today!

MEETING DETAILS:

WHAT: Charles Village Town Hall to stop explosive and dirty crude-by-rail in Baltimore

WHEN: Tuesday, November 11, 7 p.m.

WHERE: 2640 Space at St. John's Church, 2640 St. Paul Street, Baltimore, MD 21218 [map]

RSVP: Let us know you're coming by RSVPing here.

This oil terminal is not something we can let happen. Not only will the oil damage our climate, it may also put lives and your community at risk. The trains will also bring air pollution and increased noise and traffic congestion with them. This is not what Baltimore needs.

The good news is that we're not alone. Communities in port cities across the country have been organizing to fight crude oil and tar sands, and here's the important part: they're winning.

Join us tomorrow, November 11, to hear from leading experts on this issue, and learn more about how you can help keep North Dakota crude oil and Canadian tar sands out of Baltimore. Sign up today!

Thanks for protecting Baltimore,
