Dear Carol,
Attend the rally to stop fracked natural gas exports on February 20! Virginia-based company Dominion Resources wants to build a dirty facility at Cove Point in southern Maryland to liquefy gas from fracking wells all across the mid-Atlantic. Then Dominion wants to ship it all to Asia, creating greenhouse gas emissions worse than coal and leaving our communities to clean up their mess.
Shipping fracked gas is a bad deal for everyone but Dominion, and it's up to activists like us to speak up and stop this destructive facility. Will you attend the rally in Baltimore and join this historic stand to stop Cove Point?
Here's the plan. We'll rally with Lois Gibbs of Love Canal fame, the Rev. Lennox Yearwood of the Hip Hop Caucus, Joshua Tulkin of Sierra Club, and many other speakers leading the charge to stop Cove Point. Then we'll march through roped-off downtown streets to the Maryland Public Service Commission office to say, "No to Cove Point!"
Sign up today! Your presence will send a strong message to the Maryland Public Service Commission that we don't want to export dangerous and dirty fracked gas, and Cove Point must never become a reality.
