That would be great, indeed.

Yes/No. We haven't release an english version because english is
extremly big and it requires some work to process while we didn't
received a lot of request for it.
But we made one version with the 'simple english' Wikipedia : the WP
for the non-native english speaker, which is smaller
(http://simple.wikipedia.org)
You can try it I think from
http://reg.kiwix.org/download/translator-kit_latest.tar.bz2

I can see that the Bengali Wikipedia has a correct size : 17, 000
articles. What about using the Bengali version ? Maybe in conjunction
with the simple english one. This would be quite easy for us to do
that.

No it's not, but we can mail you a few if you can't download.

Let me throw in my request for a full English version. I think if you
did release one your project would gain a lot more exposure.

I don't think there is any doubt that there is a huge demand for an
English version, and not just in developing countries. Everyone I've
talked to in Toronto thinks that is an awesome idea. And even in
developing countries where they don't speak English as a native
language, it often contains a huge amount of information compared with
the one in their own language (which should also be distributed and
promoted all we can!!)... as well there are many developing countries
where English is one of the official languages, like India. (I think
it's super important to strengthen the Indic languages, and so far
Hindi for example is extremely underdeveloped, this is a huge
priority... but that doesn't mean we can't give access to the English
one for now)...

Stian,

Using either local languages or english in such countries is politic.
We don't do politics. We just want to provide the best free content we
can bring to people according to their needs (feedbacks).
We _DO_ know that we _DO_ need to do an english version of moulin. We
want to and we will.

But... We are a couple of volunteers with real life/jobs/problems.
That's why it takes time. You decided to put your time in yet another
solution instead of helping us ; that's fine. your time, your choice.

Please, don't act like we don't want an English version ; it's just
too discouraging.

ps: I'll answer about the technical details on the other thread ; to
see how we can reuse your work.
