Shortly afterwards, the Mozilla Foundation invited Garrity to head up the new visual identity team. The release of Firefox 0.8 in February 2004 saw the introduction of the new branding efforts. Included were new icon designs by silverorange, a group of web developers with a long-standing relationship with Mozilla. The final renderings are by Jon Hicks, who had worked on Camino.[273][274] The logo was later revised and updated, fixing several flaws found when it was enlarged.[275] The animal shown in the logo is a stylized fox, although "firefox" is usually a common name for the red panda. The panda, according to Hicks, "didn't really conjure up the right imagery" and was not widely known.[274]
A tarball of the Firefox 1.5 source code is available for download. The latest development code can be obtained by cvs. Firefox-specific source is in "mozilla/browser", "mozilla/toolkit", and "mozilla/chrome". Please follow the build instructions.

You can just drag and drop the xpi to firefox, or go to: "about:addons", click on the cog on the top right corner and select "install add on from file", then select you .xpi file. Now, restart firefox.
I wrote an add-on to overcome this issue in Firefox (Chrome, Opera version will have soon). It works with the latest Firefox version, with beautiful UI and support JS regex: -US/firefox/addon/cross-domain-cors
NOTE: 12/2021 updated. Since firefox 95 the 'CORS request not HTTP' can't be disabled by adjusting 'privacy.file_unique_origin'. See above 'CORS request not HTTP' link, it already updated by official rencently. The only way for me is '....Developers who need to perform local testing should now set up a local server.'
If you accidentally removed the "Web eID" or "PKCS11 Loader" web extension, you can manually reinstall it from the Mozilla Firefox web store.

Nadat Microsoft in 1997 versie 4.0 van Internet Explorer had geïntroduceerd, begon een browseroorlog. Dit was aanleiding voor Netscape om in 1998 de broncode van Netscape Navigator als opensourcesoftware te publiceren. Hierna ging het project Mozilla van start. De broncode van Netscape werd echter niet gebruikt, want in plaats hiervan werd de software volledig herschreven[bron?]. In juni 2002 werd versie 1.0 van de Mozilla Application Suite uitgebracht. Omdat deze suite, net zoals de latere versies van Netscape, ook onder andere een e-mailapplicatie bevatte, werd er door Dave Hyatt en Blake Ross een apart experimenteel project gestart om de browser te scheiden van de rest van de Mozilla-applicaties. De interne werktitel van dit project was m/b of mozilla/browser.
