I have been riding for 43 years and worked in the motorcycle industry so I take this review very seriously.
The pluses (+) for these hand guards are the following:
+ These hand guards will probably fit anything with tubular handlebars.
+ The internal clamping mechanism for the handlebars is very well made and holds the hand guard very securely using an 8 mm socket head screw which is more than adequate for the job.
+ The hand guards clear control levers with out any issues.
+ The hand guard are quite effective at blocking the wind.
+ Although the hand guards are supported from only one end they do not seem to vibrate or move in the wind.
+ They look really good compared to most other hand guards on the market.
The minuses are the following (although not for most users):
- They are expensive (although not compared to Touratech).
- If you have bar end vibration dampers they will have to be eliminated because there is no room for them when these hand guards are installed. This also goes for bar end mirrors.
- If you have solid handle bars they will have to be tapped to 8 mm x 1.5 thread and you will have to use shorter socked head screws than the ones provided. This can be done, since I had to do it for one motorcycle I have. The installation worked very well.
The only issue that has not been tested is the durability of the plastic. The plastic seems some what brittle, but as yet it has held up without any problems.
At this time I am happy with my purchase and as nothing else would have worked at all, I am relieved that these hand guards are working so well.
