Dear Lindsay,

My name is Adam Beslove and I am the Coordinator of the BLAMs SIG of American Mensa. The National Office staff is giving me this opportunity to contact you about joining BLAMs. Please note that none of your personal information has been released outside of the National Office. They sent you this email. I won't have your name or info until you decide to join BLAMs.

BLAMs is a new and growing non-political sport shooting SIG with members all over the US. We started with what has become a hugely popular monthly shooting event at the NRA HQ Range in the Washington, DC area which attracts women, men, novices, first timers, liberals, conservatives, young, old and experienced shooters. Attendance grew beyond 20 people per month and we had cap it! For many, this is their only Mensa activity. Others are creating similar events around the country and you can even start your own under the BLAMs aegis!

We have a popular and opinionated discussion board on Yahoo! and occasional email blasts with cool or silly gun-related content.

Come join the fun!

Be well,
Adam Beslove

Adam:

I’m potentially interested in this activity. I have a old model 439 Smith & Wesson 9mm handgun (never fired except for registration in prior state & municipality, and a modified Ruger Mini 14 (never fired). I also have a 50 caliber black powder flintlock rifle (never fired, and I no longer have f and ffff grade powders) but I’m guessing that isn’t range eligible? Not sure I’m NRA oriented, but the event does sound interesting. Also not sure where the site is located (I live in SW Alexandria).
