Motley’s, it's that time again!  Looks like we’ll have about 15 riders this year.  Our fundraising total so far is over $13,700 and growing every day!!  Larry is in the lead with $2,030 followed by Debby G and Debbie C.  Have all you non-participating Motley’s donated to a teammate yet?  It would be great if you did.  Just go to www.bikemscolorado.org.

PREPARATION

For those of you who haven’t ridden a long, hot ride like this before, be sure to start hydrating today and continue until the ride.  Don’t wait, start now!  Also, eat plenty of carbs on Thursday and Friday.  It’s best if you attach all your tags and bib number before Saturday morning.

START LINE AND TEAM PHOTO

Please plan to arrive at Front Range Community College between 5:00-5:15 a.m.  If you wait and arrive much later, the parking lines could make you miss our group start.  Please locate Larry and me in the VIP parking lot.  Then, drop off your luggage and group back up.  We’ll wear the new Motley jersey on Saturday and the blue Motley jersey (or any Motley jersey of your choice) on Sunday.  We’ll head over to take a team photo with everyone at 5:45 so please be ready and locate us by then.  We’ll start as they let us after that.  Give me a call if you need anything–720.935.7225

TEAM TENT AND MESSAGES, etc.

On Saturday afternoon, come over to our team tent and relax a bit.  The beer garden is the whole tent area again this year so grab a cold one and come over to the tent to visit with teammates.  Also, we’ll be sharing a tent (and the cost) with 2 small teams - Team Alphagraphics and Sagewood Physical Therapy.   There will be 2 message therapists (Kellie will start at 1:15 and then Anne will join her at 3:00).   They are coming up generously so let’s be generous to them.  Please pay the suggested $25 BEFORE your message.  In order to accommodate everyone, the messages are usually about 20 minutes.  Be sure to sign up on the schedule either on Saturday morning or in our team tent when you arrive in Ft. Collins.

RULES and SAFETY

Please be aware that absolutely NO fires are allowed.  Also, the campus police will be patrolling and there should be no outside alcohol in the tent area.  The MS Society is very concerned about rider safety as we all should be.  As with years past, they are stressing the NO PERSONAL SAG vehicles to the point that if they identify a vehicle associated with a team, they will disqualify the whole team from all awards programs the following year.  They stressed more attention be given to traffic laws and suggested that tickets will be issued plentifully if laws are not observed.  Please ride safely and smart!

OTHER ITEMS

-Fundraising – monies can be turned in on Saturday morning but you can continue fundraising until August.  Shoot for the High Roller Club ($2,000) as it has many fun perks for next year (e.g. participation in the High Roller training ride, early packet pick up, use of the fancy porta-potties with less lines, etc)!

We look forward to seeing all of you on Saturday morning for what’s going to be a great ride!

Your Motley Co-Captains,

Erika and Larry
