Libcamera works with ArduCam 8MP IMX219 camera, MotionEye give grey screen

I've hunted around the web for a few days to find this answer.

lib camera-hello works, the video0 folder exists (though the camera is apparently using video10 in MotionEye) and I can create an image with libcamera-still.

But MotionEye just gives me a grey screen when viewing that camera and says "Unable to open video device."

I've tried sudo modprobe v4l2_async and sudo modprobe v412_common and sudo modprobe bcm2835-v412 all to various errors and no effect.

What to try next?
