Hello,
I'm very much new to MotionEye and Raspberry Pi in general.
I'm trying to install the motioneyeOS on a Raspberry Pi 4B board. I've downloaded the install file from the site, and flashed it to the microSD card, both on an Ubuntu and Windows machine.
Regardless of where the image is flashed from, when I boot the Pi, it says "This board requires newer software," and seems to go into a boot loop looking for bootable software.
Is there a step I'm missing? Thanks in advance.

It's a mismatch in the bootloader on the Pi4. There is a limited number of versions that work. If you load a RaspbianOS, and run the command
vcgencmd bootloader_version
it will show what is currently loaded. If it shows any version from 2023 or 2024, it's not going to work.
It CAN be downgraded to a previous version, but even then, a lot of times it doesn't work.
