The most helpful instructions are within the github Wiki at    https://github.com/ccrisan/motioneyeos/wiki

The still image file naming default settings only save one image per second even though the camera may be set to a faster frame rate.
See  https://github.com/ccrisan/motioneyeos/wiki/FAQ#how-can-i-make-motioneyeos-save-more-than-one-picture-in-a-second

Fastest performance can be obtained by ONLY enabling those functions and features that you actually use. By carefully adjusting the
settings for image resolution, quality and motion detection configuration you can create a 'balanced' configuration that works quite well.
I get similar performance by saving either still images or movies videos but NOT both! I turn video streaming off since I can see the stream
anyway when logged in as admin.

You can learn what works well for others by doing a web search on 'raspberry pi security camera' or simply 'motionpi project'. It will take you
several attempts and lots of testing to reach a configuration that meets your needs.

Best Regards,
Bob
