Hey, installed motion service yesterday and it starts to record just nicely.

for today I was planning to install MotionEye (webUI) for it, but in all tutorials, they link cameras directly to motioneye with cameras own rtsp address, and it has own place where to save clips.

So if I install motioneye today, it means motion and motion eye reads same cameras and does both their own videorecordings?

is there anyreason why I had to install motion first?

tldr, I tought that motioneye would just read movies that motion saved and show them on webpage.

motionEye is a control wrapper (Graphical User Interface) for motion, giving you easy access to the many many options in motion, plus added features. You can run motionEye alone without motion to act as a hub for other motionEyeOS cameras, but it is optimized to be the wrapper.
