Greetings,

I installed MotionEye on a fresh Ubuntu 18.04 system. Two camera's have been configured. One " old fashioned" coax camera connected to a Connexant BTxxx board and one Raspberry PI Zero as nertwork camera. All went well.

However, when I configured logrotate for motioneye.log I discovered a few days later that the new log file did not contain anything (0 bytes).

Could it be that logrotate is incompatible with motioneye?

Does motioneye use another log file when motioneye.log is not beeing used?

With regards, Adriaan.

Hey adriaan :)

Check the logrotate parameter : create (like chmod + chown)
Maybe logrotate doesn't give the right permission on new log file and motioneye can't write in the new log file.

Great regards
