Hi, when adding a motioneyeOS camera to a main motioneye Os server I got a green screen and then it goes grey saying that the camera has been disconnected.

The camera im trying to add is a raspberry pi zero running motioneye OS 20200606 with an attached camera. The strange thing is when added as a MJPEG camea it workes fine. The server is running on a raspberry pi 3b+ with the same motioneye os version.

Try deleting the :8081/ on the end of your URL

Have you filled in your log in credentials?? Delete that slash at the end of the camera URL

It should look like this, I just deleted a camera and re added it:

The last field (camera) will auto fill when everything else is completed

Also, choose remote motioneyecamera when adding a new camera -- that combined with all the other suggestions should fix everything

Xeoma   (free) detects the camera url automatically . Therefore  using  Xeoma ,you can find the url  and port. Then you can fill the cages of motionEye using those data.
