Hello, I've recently bought the Homeworld remastered collection on gog (played with no issues), and I was told that a player patch is very useful for the game so I got that too, I installed the game on a different drive then C, and the mod guide said to change the shortcut files Target and start in boxes.
This patch adds a vast unit cap option to multiplayer/skirmish, and adjusts the unit caps closer to the classics. However Homeworld remastered has engine limitations around unit caps; including a max of about 250 units per class, and no unit cap options for the campaigns.
Issues with Mesa drivers - OpenGL 3.3 Compatibility Profile required
This is a known issues that causes the remastered versions of the games to not work with the Mesa drivers. It is discussed in the bug report 41551.
The games require the OpenGL 3.3 Compatibility Profile that should be supported by the Mesa drivers starting from version 18.2.0. Please check if the compatibility profile is supported by your setup with the command glxinfo grep version. If so, then set/export the environment variable MESA_GL_VERSION_OVERRIDE=3.3COMPAT before launching the games.
Homeworld Remastered Edition is a remastered version of the 1999 sci-fi real-time strategy game Homeworld. It contains the original version, and is distributed exclusively as part of the Homeworld Remastered Collection.
