Irecently replaced the screen on my Apple Watch series 3 Nike + edition. The screen comes on and the buttons work but there is no reaction from the device when I touch the screen. I have tried force restarting it dozens of times and it has changed nothing. The old broken screen does not work at all so I believe that trying to use the old digitizer will not work. Anyone have any ideas?

I have tried reseating the cables a couple of times and that hasn't changed anything, unfortunately, so I am beginning to wonder if there is another component that might be damaged or if the unit is now useless

And 11.0 is, well, rather crude - 11.0.3 was released days ago - and we already encountered some issues that are impacting us, like we're running 11.0.1-h2 which is rather stable but it doesnt allow PPTP traffic (you cant connect to a client/partner using pptp from behind the firewall)

So, even if maybe PA-1400 Series may be a suitable replacement and it is in a budget bracket more accessible than 3400 series, it may take at least 3-4 months for it to get 11.0.5 as preferred support version.

I also cannot understand why such an expensive watch cannot be repaired and why there are no spare parts available from the manufacturer to repair the watch. At Aliexpress there are rings to cover the bezel but not for the Fenix 6X models, unfortunately only for the smaller 6 series models, I hope there will be a manufacturer for the Fenix 6X models soon. These rings are glued over the existing bezel to prevent scratching. The rings are offered in different colors and can also be removed again. I am aware that this may not help you in your case, but it may help someone else and it shows Garmin that not all users are satisfied with the product and that they might change their mind about sustainability.

If you need UART, the only G series devices with UART are the G2x33 and G2x53, all others don't have a hardware UART and require a timer-based software UART. Also, most G series only have one timer with 2 CCR units, allowing for only one PWM (and only if hte timer isn't required for the software UART).

For biger projects, I recommend the F5 series. These have a higher pin count, lots of peripherals and much ram and flash (e.g. 256k flash, 16k ram, 4 timers, 4 UARTs etc.)

The 2x series also offers some 'bigger' devices. However, the 5x family clock system is more sophisticated.

If you need to directly drive a glass LCD, you can go for the 4x or 6x family. The 4x family is (mostly9 the successor of the 2x family with internal LCD controller, the 6x family is the same as the 5x family but with LCD controller.

Background: Knee replacements are the mainstay of treatment for end-stage osteoarthritis and are effective. Given time, all knee replacements will fail and knowing when this failure might happen is important. We aimed to establish how long a knee replacement lasts.

Methods: In this systematic review and meta-analysis, we searched MEDLINE and Embase for case series and cohort studies published from database inception until July 21, 2018. Articles reporting 15 year or greater survival of primary total knee replacement (TKR), unicondylar knee replacement (UKR), and patellofemoral replacements in patients with osteoarthritis were included. Articles that reviewed specifically complex primary surgeries or revisions were excluded. Survival and implant data were extracted, with all-cause survival of the knee replacement construct being the primary outcome. We also reviewed national joint replacement registry reports and extracted the data to be analysed separately. In the meta-analysis, we weighted each series and calculated a pooled survival estimate for each data source at 15 years, 20 years, and 25 years, using a fixed-effects model. This study is registered with PROSPERO, number CRD42018105188.

Interpretation: Our pooled registry data, which we believe to be more accurate than the case series data, shows that approximately 82% of TKRs last 25 years and 70% of UKRs last 25 years. These findings will be of use to patients and health-care providers; further information is required to predict exactly how long specific knee replacements will last.
