The Mosync website and tne forums contained there in have been offline for sometime.
No posting on Facebook from Mosync employees for some time. Rumor has it that the company has filed for bankruptcy.
This leaves users in a bit of a lurch.
Fortunately the SDK has been open sourced for some time allowing a fork if need be.
So questions for discussion:

1) Can anyone from Mosync confirm the state of the company and support for the SDK?

2) Assuming the worst,  any users/members up for forking / continuing development work on the SDK?

3) Where to host permanent forums for users of the SDK?

Hello,

I see that there is no work in progress in MoSync. I'm trying to continue the work at the a University in Rabat. You may hear news soon. I'm doing this because I already used MoSync on many projects and it's a wonderful tool that needs just some support.

Please, if anyone from MoSync team reads this, I would like to discuss some very important matters with you.

Thank you for the good work anyway.

If there are others interested in forking or continuing development, I'd be interested in helping out and adding my coding skills.  Am not too familiar with MoSync, just trying it out.  Did see some mention of SDL support.  If it could make a nice IDE for SDL developers creating phone apps, the project might be able to pull in some support from SDL developers.  If other new output platform targets were added, the project might be able to pull in some support from those developers as well.  I think Open Source support to continue coding, developing new features and maintenance is out there.  Anyone working on organizing the project and coordinating efforts?

I would be interested too, I am actively using MoSync, I can contribute pointers and patches to the toolchain and (specifically Android) runtimes . I also host toolchains and additional libraries at http://crowdguard.org/download/MoSync/

@Roman

Just reading your email. Is it possible to provide:

1.) A brief guide on setting up the toolchain and build Mosync (environmental guiide, are you using Ubuntu Linux, etc..)
2.) an FTP to access and download the toolchain or we host it on github
3.) We can ask the Mosync Team to give developer access  or if not we create a github to mirror and continue its development

My email is: sany...@gmail.com

Hear from you soon!

God blesses!!!

Best regards,
Sanyaade

I was very interested in MoSync because I wanted to use C/C++ to develop mobile applications.  I really haven't heard from anyone that they'd be interested in seeing continued support for MoSync from the Open Source community.  I've since started looking into using the Android NDK directly in order to create C/C++ based apps.  Libraries like SDL, Allegro and Nano-X work fine with Android NDK and IOS Objective C without the need for a product like MoSync.  I'm finding it much easier to do native development on Android with C/C++ using standard tools (GNU autotools, llvm, bash, etc.) rather than using MoSync.  It's certainly less complicated, easier to support multiple platforms and easier to maintain.  I've also found a way for me to test Android applications that isn't as slow as the emulators that come with MoSync or Android Studio.  If anyone else is interested in C/C++ development for devices like Android and would like to compare notes, would be happy to discuss the topic further on the CppDesign mailing list ( https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/cppdesign/info ).
