7.2 million in encampment resolution fund and they could only secure just over 100 rooms. Many of the residents of the park have reported they did not “qualify” for the housing. The housing also requires pat downs and curfews. 

The city spends more money on fencing that prevents anyone using the park than they do on actual solutions.

I'll reserve my applause until the last camper is removed. The city is under NO obligation to provide housing for anyone camping illegally;. Just remove them.

Maybe Oakland should adopt the same law as NYC then where the city is required to provide a bed for every person without shelter.

The park is cleared as is Webster. I can hear the  applause from here. Regarding the treatment of free housing at Mandela, the concern at the Lake Merritt Lodge was that there were no regulations. I’m ecstatic!!!!!!!! Sincerely hope we can move forward and sustain this energy. Major props!!!!!
