ANNA UDDENBERG at KALEIDOSCOPE c/o Spazio Maiocchi
16 June – 13 July 2018, opening 15 June 6–10 pm

KALEIDOSCOPE is delighted to present "SPA," the first solo exhibition in Italy by Swedish-born, Berlin-based artist Anna Uddenberg (b. 1982). The exhibition will be accompanied by a new artist book published by KALEIDOSCOPE.

Featured on the cover of the magazine's current issue, introducing the theme survey “The New Domestic Landscape,” Anna Uddenberg is part of a new generation of female artists whose practice perverts familiar forms and transgresses the codes of good taste, waiving the traditional distinction between the functional and the aesthetic, to create a new, disruptive language. Described in the essay by writer Aria Dean as a trailblazer who's negotiating the boundaries between cinematography and art, Jafa wants to make black film with the same power, beauty and alienation as black music—seeing the rule as something not to be followed, but rather continually undone and reforged. READ MORE
