New Irish Works finishes its run on the 9th August at the International Centre for the Image. The exhibition presents new works, many of which are being exhibited for the first time, by 10 outstanding artists: Austin Hearne, Billy Kenrick, Ciara Richardson, Debbie Castro, Dorje De Burgh, Emily O’Connell, Garry Loughlin, Kate Nolan, Mandy O’Neill, and Miriam O’Connor.
This is the 5th edition of the triennial programme of activities launched in 2013 to support Irish photographers, bringing new works by selected artists to local and international audiences. Don't miss the opportunity to enjoy this excellent selection of contemporary photographic practices in Ireland.

PhotoIreland is opening a new position for a full-time Front-of-House and Retail Staff to join our team at the International Centre for the Image. This is a full-time position, which includes some evening and weekend work.
As part of the Front of House & Retail team, you will play an integral part in creating a memorable and welcoming experience for visitors and artists, daily upkeep of the FOH and reception area, providing a welcoming environment and courteous point of contact for all visitors, as well as assisting with the cultural programme, and liaison with Irish and international artists and professionals.

PhotoIreland is opening a new position for a part-time team member, a motivated and focused individual, to join us at The Library Project, Ireland’s Art Bookshop in Temple Bar, Dublin.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the smooth transaction of sales, actively contributing to healthy sales figures, daily upkeep of the bookshop, providing a welcoming environment and courteous point of contact for all visitors, as well as assisting with events such as exhibitions and book launches.

The 12th Edition of HALFTONE Print Fair will be hosted 28th November 2026–24th January 2027 at The Library Project.
HALFTONE is an initiative by PhotoIreland, hosted every year at The Library Project. Every edition, the fair brings together a large selection of works by established and emerging artists, showcasing Ireland’s exciting art scene. PhotoIreland has raised over €100,000 for artists through HALFTONE since 2015, supporting and promoting the practice of over 800 participating artists to date, shipping their work internationally, and contributing to public and private collections.
Applications are now invited from fine art printers, illustrators, designers, photographers, and all visual artists and creatives to submit works produced since 2024, to be displayed and sold at the HALFTONE Print Fair.

Seninle Başım Dertte/I'm in Trouble with You is the story of a distance that will never close, a matted knot that can't be untied, a wound that never stops itching. The story of a mother and daughter who will never recognise each other again. I'm in Trouble with You forces the reader to witness this post-mortem confrontation as they wander from Wonderland to hospital rooms, from dusty halls to snowy nights, among irreparable ruins.

It is with great excitement and gratitude that we share the news that PhotoIreland has been shortlisted for this year’s Business to Arts Awards with our partner, Kennedy Wilson, in the CBRE Major Arts Partnership Award category.
In July 2025, this landmark collaboration led to the launch of the International Centre for the Image, a groundbreaking cultural institution in Coopers Cross, Dublin’s Docklands.
Developed over three years, the partnership embedded cultural provision into the earliest stages of urban development planning, positioning culture as essential civic infrastructure. The result is a co-created model for sustainable cultural investment and cross-sector collaboration. Crucial to this process was the role of the Head of Cultural Strategy, Claire Healy, who successfully mediated the development of the partnership.

PhotoIreland grows the reputation of Irish artists globally through a 360 degree support system and platform for contemporary photography, activated through a diversity of projects. These include events such as PhotoIreland Festival and Halftone print fair amongst others; resources such as the PhotoIreland Collection, a specialised research library of photobooks, and Ireland’s Art Bookshop, The Library Project; via publishing with projects such as OVER Journal and TLP Editions; professional development support through networking and consultancy opportunities; and empowering early and mid-career photographers via our international partnerships, most relevantly through Creative Europe co-funded platforms such as FUTURES and Parallel.
In 2025, PhotoIreland launched the International Centre for the Image, Ireland's innovative cultural venue situated in the Dublin Docklands, with a focus on photography and the visual arts. The centre is a friendly and accessible venue that provides comfortable facilities, from the private artist studios, workshop, and offices, to the welcoming bookshop area, the expansive gallery space, as well as a quiet research library.
