Yesterday,
Aminah Brenda Lynn Robinson's Song from Blackberry Patch (1977) was selected for the
The Bennett Collection Acquisition Award, which supports women-identifying artists who paint women in the figurative realist style.
The work will be placed on view at the Muskegon Museum of Art following the acquisition by The Bennet Collection.
Our focused presentation of portraiture by
Willie Birch and
Aminah Brenda Lynn Robinson brings together two celebrated Black American artists whose practices are grounded in close observation of community, memory, and place. Through distinct visual languages, both artists approach portraiture as a powerful form of storytelling—transforming individual likeness into enduring records of cultural experience.
This presentation coincides with significant institutional recognition for both artists. In May 2026, the California African American Museum will open
Willie Birch: Stories to Tell, a major touring retrospective co-organized by the New Orleans Museum of Art and the American Federation of Arts. Robinson’s work is currently featured in the traveling exhibition
Aminah Robinson: Journeys Home, a Visual Memoir, on view at the Mobile Museum of Art.
We would be delighted to welcome you to Stand 315 before the close of the fair and to share these important works with you in person.
