Foam Talent Call 2026

Foam is thrilled to announce the 17th Foam Talent Call: a search for a new wave of emerging photographers from across the world. Since 2007, the Foam Talent Call has been the core step in Foam’s ongoing commitment to scout, present and support talented image-makers worldwide. Former talents are Philip Montgomery, Carmen Winant, Olgaç Bozalp, Sara Cywnar, Jack Davison, Myriam Boulos, Vasantha Yogananthan and many more.
Foam Talent Call will run from October 1 – November 9 2025. The winners of the Foam Talent Call will be announced in April 2026.

Witnessing Life
10 October 2025 – 11 February 2026
Foam presents Witnessing Life, a solo exhibition of Co Rentmeester (1936), one of the most influential photographers of the 20th century. As a pioneer of photojournalism as well as commercial photography, Rentmeester has shaped our collective visual memory with iconic images such as his famous Jumpman photo of Michael Jordan, recognised by Time Magazine as one of the 100 most influential images of all time.

The exhibition Home by Mounir Raji is a heartfelt ode to Amsterdam-West, specifically the Kolenkitbuurt and the Admiralenbuurt, and above all to the people who bring them to life. The exhibition takes place across two locations: Mercatorplein and MAQAM.

Foam presents Atlanta Made Us Famous, the first museum solo exhibition by Foam Talent alumn Hajar Benjida. The exhibition focuses on Magic City, an influential strip club in Atlanta that serves as a cultural epicentre where hip-hop culture and entertainment converge. Benjida documented how Magic City's dancers act as unofficial gatekeepers of the hip-hop scene, determining which music breaks through.

The exhibition Mid-Air presents a deep dive into the archives of Dutch artist duo Blommers & Schumm, offering an in-depth look at over 25 years of their playful and provocative image-making.
The exhibition brings together highlights from their remarkable career, including iconic photographs featured in publications such as Fantastic Man, The Gentlewoman, Dazed & Confused, Self Service, Purple, AnOther Magazine, and The New York Times Magazine.

Foam proudly presents Tapsei by Fidelio Faustino in collaboration with sQuare and the Amsterdam Ferry Festival. This exhibition is a public space intervention on the GVB ferry and serves as a contemporary response to the historical exhibition Yere Mi Sten by Augusta Curiel. In his exhibition, Faustino journeys into the Surinamese interior, portraying its people in moments of quiet intimacy.
With ADE, Foam and Echobox Radio will present Chinnamasta live on the Amsterdam Ferry.

The Caspian ‘Lake’

Foam 3h presents The Caspian 'Lake by artist and photographer Khashayar Javanmardi. Javanmardi, who grew up in this region, has spent the last decade documenting the deterioration of the southern shore of the Caspian amid it's ongoing climate crisis. The project captures the deterioration of the south shore of the Caspian Sea and underscores the need to connect political and structural change to everyday life in response to the mismanagement of the region and global climate crisis.

Yere Mi Sten

Augusta Curiel (1873-1937) was one of Suriname's first women photographers, running a highly successful photography studio together with her sister Anna. Yere Mi Sten (translated from Sranan Tongo as Hear My Voice) highlights the multifaceted practice and distinctive role of Anna and Augusta Curiel in Surinamese society during the Dutch colonial period. The exhibition coincides with the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Suriname’s independence.
