Kids activities during the May holidays
Inspired by photographer Martin Parr, children explore the museum and the streets of Amsterdam with a camera, looking for funny and colourful moments. The photos are combined into one group collage and transformed by AI into a unique colouring page for the children to colour themselves.
→ Quirky Portraits will take place on
Wednesday 29 April from 11.00 until 15.00 hrs.
Deaf and hard-of-hearing children dive into the colorful and humorous world of Martin Parr during a specially designed workshop that begins with a guided tour led by a museum educator who is proficient in sign language. Afterwards, they gather in the reading corner to share their observations in sign language and engage in a conversation about photography.
→ Stories of Martin Parr in sign language will take place on
Thursday 30 April from 13.00 until 15.00 hrs.

Explore our current exhibitions
Martin Parr's exhibition Very Modern and Rather Ugly brings together a selection of his most iconic works. The exhibition celebrates Parr’s unmistakable way of seeing, witty societal observations and enduring fascination with the role of photography in everyday life. War is Personal by Ukrainian photographer and filmmaker Julia Kochetova offers an intimate perspective on the war in Ukraine, told from within by a new generation of image-makers who experience it firsthand. With Love Shit, Verena Blok explores the complexities of womanhood and reproductive justice through a deeply personal yet politically charged lens. In You Don't Look Sick, Jasmijn Vermeeren sheds light on the lived reality of invisible disability, challenging how illness is perceived when it cannot be seen.
