I know that it will come with a new release. Nevertheless I hope it will come soon. Changing the font size or at least the chosen font a little bit bigger would be great. In this way it is really hard for me to work with bear 2.0.

I also dislike Avenir here (and the typography in general in some details (italic titles)). It has too large ascenders for my taste and is generally too thin. I like the typography choices and options of the Bear Notes app. It is a set of different distinct fonts and it has some important settings to adjust spacings.
And I think this is a rather important feature - it touches accessibility and usability for everyone at the core of a notes taking app: typography!
I think note taking apps are something very personal and so it would surely be beneficial for users to be able to adjust certain key aspects of the typography to their taste and habits.

Typography plays an important role in Amazon Echo brand recognition. It communicates a consistent, unified identity and gives instant personality to our written words. Learn more about our typography here.

I love the font I have so would like to keep that, and only when hovering the navigation bar I would like it to reveal a different font. (whilst also keeping my current animation of the line moving across the bottom of each word on hover)

I installed the font set from Google, and do not see a problem with any of the 4 basic stylings (bolding/italic combos), nor with kerning which works fine as far as I can tell. Tried with 4pt, 12pt and 48pt sizes, and the rendering in normal edit window is as expected.

Did you actually install the font, or do you have a file just requesting the font? Writer will display the preferred font for selected text even when it is not installed on your system. In such cases rendering will pick that font from those available on your system which, according to certain parameters, is deemed to be most similar.

This is a bug in LibreOffice.
Has nothing to do with the font.
You can test other fonts at smaller sizes (e.g. 10pt) and you will see the same thing.
As you zoom in and out at smaller sizes you will see the text spacing jump around.

Among the many new features in Bear 2 is our own custom font, Bear Sans. Being a writing (and reading) app, we have quite a few users who care about how their text looks while they work. We thought it would be fun to explore the how and why Bear Sans came to be the new face of Bear.

At first we considered drawing our own or working with a foundry to design one from scratch. In the end, we opted to use an existing, battle tested design that we could augment to meet our specific needs. We found all that in Clarika.

One of the biggest challenges was to create a typeface with personality, but not so much as to detract or distract from the process of writing. Just as Markdown helps you focus more on your words than on the formatting, so should Bear Sans sit silently, supporting your prose without taking from its meaning.

Is there a way to make the fonts in Illustrator show up in the list as written in the font itself? My drop down lists the fonts, but all the options are displayed in the same font type so it's really hard to determine which font to use since I can't see a sample of that font.

Thanks. but the overall display settings on my computer are good. The hyper zoomed in appearance is only affecting the "effects" tab and the display for the fonts in Illustrator. None of the other areas of Illustrator (or any other Adobe program are affected)

Wait--- I just realized the issue with the missing preview of fonts and the hyper zoomed in portions of illustrator is only happening on my second (larger computer screen - which is set to 100%) when I move the program to my laptop monitor,

In the Type section of your Illustrator preferences make sure that "Enable in-menu font previews" is checked. Do this with no document open and then quit the program. Once you reopen the program it will become the default for all new documents.

Thank you. That's what I thought too, but checking the box doesn't do anything. In addition, when view the font drop down, the text is huge, whereas in all my other tabs (except the effects tab - which displays a zoomed font size like the fonts drop down), it's normal. I'm wondering if there is a corrupt setting or some sort of cache i need to reset/clear?

UGH, so frustrating. Resetting my preferences and closing/reopening Illustrator didn't change anything. I still isn't showing the font previews and it's super zoomed in when I open the fonts and effects drop down menus. SIGH!!

Wait--- I just realized the issue with the missing preview of fonts and the hyper zoomed in portions of illustrator is only happening on my second (larger computer screen - which is set to 100%) when I move the program to my laptop monitor, the issues go away. So clearly, it's an issue with my secondary screen.

While checking on some things, I decided to load my site in Edge and was in for a bit of a shock: my site was rendered with what appears to be Times New Roman. After validating that I did in fact have fonts configured properly, I did a bit of research on how to fix it, and the short answer is, I can't (at least, not easily). It's a bug in Edge that's been going on for a while now.

Here's a post from almost two years ago about the problem. The best response is towards the end (next to last reply at the time of writing, on October 13th of 2016) and breaks down what is happening and what individuals can do to correct it.

Here's a font with a special backstory. Prickly Pear is an offbeat handwritten font, created in a moving car, on the way to the Simpson Desert.Prickle Pear's 160+ ligatures help shape it's erratic and rugged feel. It's got messiness, it's got multi-linguals, it's got uppercase and lowercase and it's got a lot of character.

This adorable little font is made to be stitched using your 5x7" hoop and on average has only 9 colour changes. Most letters can be stitched using your 4x4" hoop with the exception of letters M and W as they are wider.

That selector ([style*="sans-serif"]) attempts to target all elements that contain "sans-serif" in the value of the style attribute and then give them the 'Opens Sans' font, although I'm not 100% sure this works since inline styling should overwrite anything in your style tags. You may want to use other selectors and remove the inline styling or swap the inline styling to Open Sans.
