Mint marks are letters that identify where a coin was made. They hold the maker responsible for the quality of a coin. When the U.S. used precious metals such as gold and silver to make circulating coins, a commission evaluated the metal compositions and quality of coins from each of the Mint facilities. The evaluations ensured that each facility produced coins to the correct specifications.
Graphical marks visually encode data using geometric primitives such as rectangles, lines, and plotting symbols. Marks are the basic visual building block of a visualization, providing basic shapes whose properties can be set according to backing data. Mark property definitions may be simple constants or data fields, or scales can be used to map data values to visual values.
There is also a special group mark type (group) that can contain other marks, as well as local data, signal, scale, axis and legend definitions. Groups can be used to create visualizations consisting of grouped or repeated elements; examples include stacked graphs (each stack is a separate group containing a series of data values) and small multiples displays (each plot is contained in its own group). See the Group Marks page for more.
The clip property limits the area in which a set of marks is visible. The default value (boolean false) disables clipping. A boolean true value clips the marks to the width and height of the enclosing group mark. The clip property also accepts a signal that evaluates to a boolean value.
Unregistered marks applied with the @pytest.mark.name_of_the_mark decoratorwill always emit a warning in order to avoid silently doing somethingsurprising due to mistyped names. As described in the previous section, you can disablethe warning for custom marks by registering them in your pytest.ini file orusing a custom pytest_configure hook.
When the --strict-markers command-line flag is passed, any unknown marks appliedwith the @pytest.mark.name_of_the_mark decorator will trigger an error. You canenforce this validation in your project by adding --strict-markers to addopts:
Please allow for processing time for your marks request. Processing time may increase due to high volume, or if your request is incomplete or requires additional information. UCLA Marks requests are processed in the order received. It takes at least two business days to get a response. Requests cannot be expedited, so submit your request at your earliest opportunity.
The big advantage of mark types over chart types is that you can compose multiple marks of different types into a single plot. For example, below an area and line are used to plot the same sequence of values, while a rule emphasizes y = 0.
But rather than supplying literal values, it is more semantic to provide abstract values and use scales. In addition to centralizing the encoding definition (if used by multiple marks), it allows Plot to generate a legend.
If the tip option is true, a tip mark with the pointer transform will be derived from this mark and placed atop all other marks, offering details on demand. If the tip option is set to an options object, these options will be passed to the derived tip mark. If the tip option (or, if an object, its pointer option) is set to x, y, or xy, pointerX, pointerY, or pointer will be used, respectively; otherwise the pointing mode will be chosen automatically. (If the tip mark option is truthy, the title channel is no longer applied using an SVG title element as this would conflict with the tip mark.)
For marks that support the frameAnchor option, it may be specified as one of the four sides (top, right, bottom, left), one of the four corners (top-left, top-right, bottom-right, bottom-left), or the middle of the frame.
The Trademark Unit is also responsible for the registration of various other filings, such as container brands, which could be a name, mark or device impressed or produced on a container (California Business & Professions Code section 14425), laundry marks (California Business & Professions Code section 14480), and the names of farms, ranches, estates, or villas (California Business & Professions Code section 14460).
Many products and procedures promise to minimize the appearance of stretch marks, or even make them disappear completely. To date, though, little evidence supports the effectiveness of these products.
Working with a dermatologist might also have benefit when your stretch marks bother you to the point where they lead to emotional distress or make you feel reluctant to bare your arms, legs, stomach, or other body parts.
