attached is a document/paper that I have written. Please find time.
TOPIC:
What is in a name? Unmasking the Semantics of New words/names in Post-conflict Kenya.
ABOUT THIS PAPER:
This is an abridged version of a paper ‘The Semantics of Multilingual Terminologies in Post-conflict Kenya’ I presented at a Multilingualism conference organized by The University of Penn (USA) and Kenyatta University on July 22-23, 2010.
The paper talks about how names and words have acquired new meanings in Kenya after the 2007/2008 post-election violence. These words cut across several languages and are used by across section of Kenyans and even East Africans.
