Hello -

I'm currently trying to program with Mosek using the server at:

http://solve.mosek.com:30080

Which I believe is a public server. I have been getting getting errors with response code 1050 (Unknown Error) sometimes, which seem to be associated with more complex problems. I'm wondering if there is actually a link that prevents users from getting solutions on this server in the case that problems are too complex. Just getting a 1050 response code is confusing.

Thanks,
Trevor

Error reporting in the case of too big problems and other exceeded limits of this demo server may be shaky, especially as we recently upgraded the server. Also cooperation of the server with Mosek versions older than 11 may lead to misunderstanding of codes by the client so try version 11. I understand it can be confusing, it is on our todo list to clean up the instructions but as it is a demo designed to test tiny problems this does not have the highest priority.

You can set up your own optserver in 0 time if that interests you https://docs.mosek.com/latest/opt-server/install-and-run-light.html

You can disregard my previous message for now - I'll be following the instructions here before trying to run it locally: https://docs.mosek.com/latest/licensing/licensecloud.html. Thanks.

Ok, thanks. I'm in the process of setting up the the server on my local machine.

I've started the server, it's running, and have just run the `test_helloworld.py` file to test, which gave the error of a missing `'x-mosek-job-token' in the response object. This sounds expected.

I am certain my organization has an account with Mosek, but I'm not the one who set up the account. I'm guessing I probably need to the the job token, but beyond that, can you provide some guidance about what exactly needs to happen to ensure my calls to the OptServerLight are authenticated?

If this is something that was sent to the account holder already, apologies, I will get in touch with them. But getting confirmation from you also helps.

Hi,

I suggested you contact our support. The procedure is simple

1. Start optserver as in the instructions
2. Make sure it has a license, treating it as a normal user.
3. Adapt the code with your urls and optimize.

Nothing extra is needed.

If you write to support we can clarify what went wrong or set up a quick meeting.
