Did you know Placerita Canyon in the Santa Clarita Valley was one of
the first places in California that gold was discovered in 1849? The
protected natural preserve is a unique east-west running canyon with
flowing streams, and cool, shaded oak and sycamore groves...it is home
to rabbit, deer and coyote. Please join MOSAIC Outdoor Club of Greater
Los Angeles on this beautiful streamside day of adventure. We are
offering 2 hikes -- an easy/moderate hike - about 4.5 miles round trip
(500' gain) on trails that will go to a waterfall; and a moderate/
strenuous hike (7.5 miles round trip with about 1,500' gain/loss that
will travel up the hills to a gorgeous lookout atop a bluff to view
the entire San Gabriel Valley. The hikes start at the same place, at
the same time and share the same trail for the first two miles (and
last two miles) of the hike. For more details and maps, please visit:
http://www.placerita.org/

IMPORTANT: All MOSAIC events require participants to sign a Liability
Release Waiver at the event location. If you would like to read the
waiver before the event, you can do so at: http://www.mosaicla.org/signin.pdf.
